Al Mason Mornings (5:30AM - 10:00AM) mason@wingsfm.com Al Mason’s earliest childhood memories are of standing on an ottoman so he could peer down into his parents’ console hi-fi and watch record albums spin. Too bad Al can’t remember anything that happened before he was 14! But it was at that tender young age when he followed his fascination with vinyl into a record-spinning job at a hometown (Dothan, AL) radio station. Soon thereafter, unfortunately, vinyl records became extinct. So, Al shifted his career focus to radio programming and production, which he has specialized in for 30+ years in Memphis, Birmingham, Montgomery, and now as Vice-President of Programming and Production for Auburn Network, Inc. He’s also the morning deejay on Wings 100.3, where he occasionally likes to pop the cover off the Classic Hits computer and watch the hard-drive spin. Al Extras: Al is heard by millions of hunters each season as narrator of the weekly Buckmasters Whitetail Magazine on TV’s Outdoor Life Channel. He’s an avid reader (novels, history), rabid NASCAR nut (24 rules!) and, of course, he bleeds orange & blue!
Julie Burns Middays (10:00AM - 2:00PM) jburns@wingsfm.com Julie Burns is the artistic, eclectic, free spirit amidst the Wings air force. A native of upstate New York (wine country,) Julie once hitch-hiked cross-country, communing with nature and seeking cultural wisdom from Jerry Garcia. Alas, she never met Jerry. But she did run into a nephew of Wavy Gravy, who discreetly informed her that she had missed the “Summer of Love” by about a decade. So Julie hocked her lava lamp and hopped a Greyhound to Alabama, accepting an art scholarship at Huntingdon College. On a dare, she applied for a radio job – and quickly became a top-rated air personality in Montgomery! She moved to Auburn in 2007 so she could hang out at Gnu’s Book Room. NOTE: In addition to her duties on Wings 100.3, Julie's voice may also be heard each weekday morning on our sister station, WANI NewsTalk 1400, where she co-hosts and delivers news on the station's ABBY-award winning morning show. Fact: Julie minored in communications at Huntingdon, before deciding to drop all of those boring courses.

John Garrett Afternoons (2:00PM - 7:00PM) jgarrett@wingsfm.com John Garrett grew up in Pell City AL where he listened to Mark & Brian out of Birmingham while working as a well digger’s apprentice. When his radio heroes landed a big-time gig in LA, John realized there was money to be made running one’s mouth as opposed to ruining one’s Reeboks, so he traded in his hip waders for a pair of headphones and the rest is history. John’s radio career has included memorable stops in Birmingham, Montgomery, Jackson MS and Knoxville TN. And not-so-memorable stops in Greensboro and St. Louis (where he spent a month one night.) Today, in addition to hosting afternoons on Wings 100.3, he operates his own voiceover company and is heard on car spots (“zero percent interest for 60 months with approved credit!”) and is the staff announcer for a bunch of TV stations across America (“it’s 6 o’clock and this is Channel 2 Eyewitness News!”) John’s favorite Wings Classic Artists: Van Halen (prefers Sammy to Dave), The Beatles (prefers Paul to John) and AC/DC (prefers Brian Johnson to Bon Scott.)
