OLLI at Auburn Hosts Wisdom Wednesday’s Lecture Series Guest Clif Perry
Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Auburn University (OLLI at Auburn) will host its lecture series entitled Wisdom Wednesday’s on January 31, 2018 from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art located at 901 South College Street, Auburn, Alabama 36830. OLLI members, guests and friends are all invited to learn more about OLLI at Auburn course offerings, social engagements and initiatives.
Clif Perry will provide a presentation entitled “Presidential Pardon Authority”? During this presentation, Dr. Perry will address the authority of the presidential pardon. President Trump has contended that he might just pardon himself for all of his alleged crimes. Can he do this? Most legal scholars argue that he cannot. We will discuss the parameters of the Chief Executive’s Pardon Authority and the arguments that support a limitation that is not in Article II, section 2, clause 1.
Clif Perry is the Hudson Professor in the Department of Political Science at Auburn University. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of California, a J.D. from Faulkner University, Jones School of Law, as well as a LL.M. from Loyola University Chicago, School of Law in Health Law and a LL.M. from the University of Arizona, College of Law in Federal Law. He has been admitted to the Bar in Alabama, New Mexico and Arizona as well as the Navajo Nation and the Jicarilla Apache Nation.
OLLI at Auburn offers academic not for credit programs for adults aged 50 years or older through program sites at Auburn University, AUM in Montgomery, Alabama, and the Chambers County Public Library in Valley, Alabama.
OLLI at Auburn is a program of the Office of the Vice President for University Outreach at Auburn University.
