This Sunday night on Wings 94.3’s Live in Concert, our headliner is The Steve Miller Band

Over the past 50 years, Steve Miller has worked hard to gain a reputation as one of rock’s most innovative and exciting musicians. It’s earned him an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

This weekend, we’ll listen to a performance captured live at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, just outside of Detroit. It was September 25th, 1982, during the highly successful “Abracadabra” tour.

This Sunday Night on Live in Concert, our headliner is Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band

Happy New Year!

This weekend, we’ll kick off the year 2018 with a brilliant performance by Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band!

In 2006, Seger released his first new album in 11 years, “Face The Promise.” His much anticipated tour dates were selling out in just minutes! In some cities, If they could, they’d add another concert- and that too would sell out in minutes! Seger was back!

We’ll listen to the penultimate concert from this tour. It was St. Patrick’s Day, 2007, at Cobo Hall in the band’s hometown of Detroit! With just 2 shows remaining on the tour, Seger and the guys saved the best for last!

On this week’s “Live in Concert” presented by BMW of Columbus, our headliner is Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band

 

We’ll hear a true masterpiece from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band!

It was captured live at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo on November 22nd, 2009, during their “Working On a Dream” tour. Not only will we hear timeless rock classics from The Boss, but you’ll surely catch the holiday spirit with their renditions of some holiday favorites!

Put a few logs on the fire, pour yourself a glass of Egg Nog, and enjoy our headliner, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band! They’re headlining the next Live in Concert.

On Sunday night’s Live in Concert feature presented by BMW of Columbus, our headliner is The Rolling Stones!

 

By the year 1994, some people were saying The Stones had run their course, and their best days were behind them. It didn’t sit well with the band, and they put those criticisms to rest with the release of their “Voodoo Lounge” album.

It went double platinum, won the Grammy for Best Rock Album, and their subsequent tour grossed over $320 million dollars- at the time the highest grossing concert tour in history!

This weekend, we’ll hear a concert from that tour- it was captured live at the Superdome in New Orleans on October 10th, 1994.

A few weeks after releasing their landmark album, “Hotel California,” The Eagles set out on a massive tour. The band was already exhausted, but the performances were nothing short of spectacular!

This weekend, we’ll listen to a concert from this tour captured live in our nation’s capital area. It was March 22nd, 1977 at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland.

On Sunday night’s “Live in Concert” feature presented by BMW of Columbus, our headliner is Elton John!

This weekend, we’ll hear the concert Elton John himself says is the most memorable in his career.

Why is it so memorable? After losing a bet about his new song “Whatever Gets You Through The Night” reaching number one on the Billboardcharts, former Beatle and music legend John Lennon made good on the bet and joined Elton John on stage! We’ll hear that legendary jam session, and the rest of Elton John’s concert as well.

It was captured live at Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 28th, 1974.

It doesn’t get much better than this- it was captured live at Boston Garden on October 6th, 1980, during the tour to support his landmark album, Against The Wind. Seger and the guys were sounding their absolute best!

The headliner for this week’s Live in Concert presented by BMW of Columbus is ELO

 

After not only years, but decades of inactivity, E-L-O has had a total re-birth!

Back in 2014, BBC Radio 2 in London was staging their annual “Festival In A Day.” When they booked E-L-O to headline the festival, 50,000 tickets sold out in just 15 minutes! Since then, the band has enjoyed more success than any other time in their career!

This weekend, we’ll listen to that concert that rebooted E-L-O! It was captured live at Hyde Park in London on September 14th, 2104.

The headliner for this week’s Live in Concert presented by BMW of Columbus is REO Speedwagon

Live from Boston Garden in Boston, MA on July 15, 1981

 

On November 21st, 1980, REO Speedwagon released “Hi Infidelity.” The album stayed at number one on the Billboard album chart for a mind-blowing 15 weeks!

While that was going on, the band launched a major tour. This weekend, we’ll hear a concert from that tour- it was captured live at Boston Garden, in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 15th, 1981.

The headliner for this week’s Live in Concert feature presented by BMW of Columbus is Journey

Live from Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas, NV, October 17, 1973

This weekend, we’re going to “Sin City” to listen to a legendary Journey performance from March 8th, 2008.

Journey played this concert at Planet Hollywood on the Las Vegas strip. It’s noteworthy that it was one of lead singer Arnel Pineda’s very first performances with the band, and he’ll blow you away!

Journey delivered hit after hit, anthem after anthem! With Pineda’s boundless energy, the band seemed rejuvenated and they were performing as well as they ever had.
