AHS Defeats Davidson 34-10, Advances to Round 2 of the 7A Playoffs

Auburn High comes out a winner on Friday night, as they defeat Davidson of Mobile 34 to 10. The Tigers were underdogs and the lower seed going into the first round of the 7A playoffs in Mobile. Garrett Morris stole the show again for the Tigers, running for over 200 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Auburn offence. Avery Atkins recorded three field goals including one from 43 yards. The Tiger’s defense also had a solid game, highlighted by a diving interception by Tre’Shun Floyd late in the third quarter.
Auburn High will now head to Phenix City to take on Central next week in round two of the 7A playoffs. Back on September 2, Auburn lost their regular season matchup to Central 42-14. The AHS Football broadcast team of Bill Cameron, Chuck Furlow, Gabe Gross, and Scott Bagwell will bring you the game on Wings 94.3 on Friday night; pregame at 6:30 and kickoff at 7:00.
